Our iterative shows support the ongoing praxis, research and archiving we are developing around collective embodied softness. In this second iteration we had a returning audience member. The audience was intimate and we were able to explore the space differently. There was a brief interruption to our practice, a homeless man walking in looking for food or a few dollars. We tended to this moment and it became generative to the remainder of our show. There was reflection on our practice as a collaborative collective. Questions of how we are seeing our roles as sound designer, leaders, followers, witnesses, and/or photographer — a red string pulling our attention, stringing us together and eventually abandoned. We explore our relationship to material in more invested ways. This is information for the future of this work, an anchor or compass. We resound in understanding it requires trust to be in process. There was a word of thanks for the audience member who remained trustworthy and dedicated in the collective process.
